I am proud to present to you your 2011 Milwaukee Brewers…

Way to go guys!

Gosh, how I love the sound of that!

If you didn’t catch last night’s game against the Florida Marlins, it was a great one! It was a neck-in-neck race, tied one to one with both teams pulling some equally impressive weight both defensively and at the bats. That was until the eighth inning when one Mr. Ryan Braun stepped up to the plate and with one easy swing of his Louisville slugger, wacked the leather right off of the ball, scoring a three-run homer to put the crew up, 4-1 which inevitably won them the game.

"Celebrate good times, come on!"

You could feel the love, the excitement, and the overall joy from the fans when the final three outs were taken in the bottom of the ninth, officially ending the game and crowning the Brewers NL Central Champions (with a little help from Chicago who won a crucial game against the St. Louis Cards–never did I think in a million years I would be saying thank you to the Cubbies, and I quite literally am stammering my speech as I say the words, but, well, thank you Chi-town for the win). This is the first time in franchise history that the Brewers have held the coveted title  of NL Central Champs, and is their first division title since winning the AL East on the last day of the 1982 season. Something to be very proud of, for sure! If you didn’t get a chance to see the game winning hit, Braun’s big moment, here it is 🙂

The first thing this chica did this morning (even prior to showering and eating…a girl’s gotta have her priorities after all)? Head to Kohl’s and purchase an NL Central Champions shirts (or three). I’m just a little excited about the events of last night, can you tell?

This season has been over to remember and if the crew doesn’t for some reason go any further in the playoffs, they have something to be very proud of for sure. However, I have got a gut feeling, an intuition if you will, that the Brewers will make it to the game of all games, the end-all be-all, the Superbowl of baseball…THE World Series. I know it’s a little early still, but if I could have any Christmas wish, any gift I would ask for from the big bearded guy in red, it would be for a trip to the World Series, just to make it to the end. A win would be amazing and the definite cherry on top of this baseball season’s sundae, but just to be given the chance for the amazing players who have worked so hard and for so long to get where they are would be awesome and so well deserved.

Any maybe as a side gift, a ticket to a game wouldn’t hurt…just saying. That’s something your elves can work their magic on, isn’t?

Pop open the bubbly and bring out the fancy cheese Milwaukee fans…it’s time to celebrate!
